South Central Communications Now Provides Cellular Service to Escalante

   South Central Communications announced today that it now has digital cellular service available in Escalante.
   In making the announcement, South Central general manager Brant Barton, said, “This is an exciting day for us. Escalante is the long time home of South Central’s main office, and we’re pleased we can now provide cell coverage in this area.”
   The company recently completed testing of the new cell tower and its equipment, and according to Kerry Alvey, assistant manager, the testing went very well. “Usually when a new cell site is activated there are problems, but this went exceptionally well. The site is fully functional and our coverage in the Escalante area is excellent.”
   South Central has been involved in the cellular business for six years and now has cell towers dotting much of Southern Utah. Each year the company adds new sites and continues to aggressively expand its coverage area.
   “As a Southern Utah company, our goal is to provide quality telecommunications services to the people of this area,” Barton said. He recommended that anyone interested in cell service should contact the company’s service representatives.
