South Central Communications and CentraCom Complete Cable TV Transaction in Wayne County

(Escalante) South Central Communications (SCC) and CentraCom Interactive announced today that SCC will purchase CentraCom Interactive’s cable TV system serving Wayne County.
According to company officials, the system serves the central Utah communities of Loa, Bicknell and Lyman.
“We’re very happy to expand our cable TV system into Wayne County,” said SCC’s Board president Paul Pace. “We currently provide telephone and Internet service in this area, and it is exciting that we’ll now be able to add cable TV to the services we offer our customers.”
Eddie Cox, Vice President and General Manager of CentraCom Interactive expressed similar satisfaction with the transaction. “We are pleased this sale was able to take place. We’ve appreciated serving our Wayne County customers, but since South Central already provides telephone service in the area, this is a more logical fit for them.”
Cox went on to say, “It will also allow us to concentrate on improving our cable properties in Sevier and Sanpete Counties.”
Nathan Rousseau, SCC’s manager of cable television operations said, “We will be making immediate changes to the system to upgrade equipment and expand the channel lineup so it is similar to our other cable television systems.”
According to Rousseau, SCC currently serves more than 2,000 cable television customers in several communities in Garfield, Iron and Washington counties.
